Gabriel Gonzaga is training hard for UFC 86

By Edu Ramos

Since ‘Napão’ was defeated by Fabrício Werdum, he hasn't appeared in MMA news very much. One of the reasons is that he has been training hard for his next bout against Justin McCully (8 – 3 – 2) at UFC 86. Another one is the UFC Heavyweight belt. Gonzaga still wants to become a champion and for it to happen, he will have to start putting together the victories again. There isn't another way, besides to train as hard as he ever has.

McCully is an American fighter and one of Tito Ortiz's teammates. He's having the best moment of his career after four victories in a row. His last loss occurred on Showtime in October of 2000; when Ed de Kruijf caught him via ambar for the submission. He came back to fight in 2003. Since then he has had victories over Dario Amorim, Derek Thornton, Ruben Villareal and Antoni Hardonk.

Gonzaga (8 – 3 – 0) recently stated: "I need to win again. I will fight anyone. My target is the belt. I had a long way until the title-shot and I'll do it one more time. I need some victories and my training is hard and I have reached the best conditioning and I will give a great show to my fans. I have to win, of course, but my aim is to get the belt."

The Brazilian fighter has to beat McCully as he did versus Mirko "Cro-Cop" Filipovic. This way he'll attract attention of the fans and the UFC again.
