Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira wants Brock Lesnar’s Belt By Edu Ramos

Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira (32-5-1) came up from the hell in the moment that many people believed his career was about to end up after the loss to Frank Mir (12-4) at UFC 92. That was only the first knockout suffered for the experienced fighter who has fought for the best organizations on the planet and is considered one of the best heavyweights ever.
His way back to the victory took place at the main event of UFC 102 versus another veteran who is among the top ten of all mixed martial arts rankings, Randy Couture (16-10), in a three round battle in which were added the ingredients of the classical fights of ‘Big Nog’, knockdowns, takedowns, triangles and more…
We started talking with the valetudo icon just about that epic confrontation with ‘The Natural’ and a possible title shot soon in the future.
“Our goal is the belt and believing in God it will happen. The only thing I ask God is I fight well and my shape is 100% of conditioning to fight like I fought the last time with Couture”.
“I wish health to train the same say. I worked too much for that fight and because of that the result was positive. Many people said I wouldn’t manage to get there but it was like I previously said I wasn’t feeling good on Frank Mir’s fight but I hope to give the show like I always did and will keep doing so on”.
Brock Lesnar – who defends his heavyweight belt versus Shane Carwin at UFC 106 in November – is regarded as a fighter tough to be beaten but Nogueira already has in mind the strategical points to exploit the white giant.
“Moving all the time and pressuring him up and down using the weight to my side. Working a sharpen boxing I’m sure I’ll leave the octagon victorious. I anxiously expect this day and I have stated that I want to fight him”.
‘Big Nog’ commented the heavyweight clash between the contender Shane Carwin and the current champion Brock Lesnar and decided not to pick a winner for their bout.
“That’s a great fight, too balanced. We can say it’s 50-50. The guys are very tall and Brock always takes advantage of his height but now he is going to face an opponent of the similar size. Let’s see what comes off from this giants’ fight and the best wins”.
Nogueira’s brothers shared the attentions from the fans when they fought at PRIDE FC, event that is kept in the mind of the older fans of MMA, and a couple of weeks ago his twin brother Rogerio Minotouro signed a four-fight contract with the UFC and ‘Big Nog’ talked about the emotion of having his brother at UFC.
“That was perfect! Nothing could’ve been better than that. Feeling the adrenaline of having Rogerio in my corner cheering me up and supporting me is out of the common sense” he said.
“He is the big guy who supports me in all, a great athlete who will prove he will be among the best fighters in the organization. He has been training hard and is focused on his UFC debut”.
“Keep supporting the Nogueira brothers”.
